CHROME E KIRK is a AA ROM AQHA race winner with a SI-83. He was South Dakota's champion racing 2 year old in 1997 and held a track record for over 10 years. After his racing career, Chrome was a strong using ranch horse until a devastating knee laceration ended his riding days.
Sired by the great producing son of Easy Jet, Dr Kirk, and out of a proven daughter of yet another amazing producer Jet N Rocket, if there was a plan for Chrome it was to be the sire of barrel horses. When I purchased Chrome at the age of 19, he had only sired approximately 130 foals. It is very difficult to track and record his offspring's winnings, but with the research I have made, nearly every foal that was taken seriously to the barrel pattern graduated into a solid 1D barrel race, futurity, and rodeo winner.
Chrome E Kirk is the kindest, most gentle horse I have ever been around. As a first time stallion owner, I was a little leary around him at first. The more time I spent with him, the more I fell in love with him, and relalized he is nothing more but a big push over and overall a total ham! He loves his oats and honey treats, being brushed, his BOT wraps, and being loved on by my nephews when they come to visit.
Chrome's foals are stamped with kind dispostions, a deep girth, long hips, and strong sturdy frames. They sometimes aren't the brightest in the bunch, but make up for that with a gritty, hard working attitude with no quit. They aim to please, and connect with their partners. Most all of Chrome's kids have that natural "cow" about them - it's one of the reason's I fell in love with him as a sire. He's got the speed on papers, but is a true American Quarter horse at heart.
